Strategically Outside the Box
Maintenance Technology Systems approach to the vibration measurement and analysis is to look for more strategic solutions from “Outside the Box”. All of our products are based on a single tablet computer from Panasonic’s ToughPad line.
A good example of this strategic approach is our flagship Vbox3 device. While extremely portable and usable in many environments it weighs only 3.5 lbs. It also has a stylus for precision operation of the full up Windows 10 pro operating system. The under the hood hardware is and Intel Core i5vPro processor, 8 Gb ram and 256 Gb SSD hard drive.
Other outside the box features includes our 2-year bumper to bumper warranty from the transducer to the analysis software. When a maintenance contract is purchased even the hardware is upgraded to match the current new specification and configuration. (What MTS is currently selling to a new customer.) So each time the maintenance contract is renewed your 2-year-old system is brought up to our current system specification and configuration.
MTS has a patent pending magnetic encoder that not only gives rotational speed but also direction with a single transducer with just a single data channel to record this speed information.
This tablet based computer system allows access to the collected data via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, USB jump drive or email. Data and on the spot analysis can be quickly shared with those who need to know. Work orders can be immediately generated into your plant work order system.
The Vbox3 portable vibration data collector is based on data acquisition from a triaxial vibration transducer. The data collector displays pictures of the transducer placed on the machine so that readings and transducer orientation can be consistently and repetitively duplicated for added accuracy when comparing previous data sets.
Because the Vbox3 data collector is built on a regular Windows tablet platform it can also be used as the computer to drive or run other instrumentation, i.e. Hamar Lasers Stealth Series Laser alignment system.
The whole Vbox series of data collectors can feed data into the MTSXplorer Machine Vibration Analysis software and database.
